28 September 1999 Dave Baran ('83)

I am in Washington DC for the months of Sept and Oct, 1999 and then again Jan 2000 and Feb 2000. I am acting program manager of the HEU (Highly Enriched Uranium) Transparency project during a leave of absence. The project is the one I spoke on at colloquium last year. I get to manage the travel to Russia, the team selection, the interaction with our Russian friends, as well as oversee that contractors (LLNL and LANL, the major players) in their support of the project.

I also will be heading back to Seversk in October for my 10th trip to that site.
