24 September 1999 Bill Baumgartner ('84)

Hope all is well at VU. I am currently an Operations Engineer, Special Project group, Next Linear Collider Dept, Stanford University. I manage a small (currently 500 MeV) X-band electron accelerator that is used for componant development for the NLC. Mostly designing and testing X-band (11.4GhZ) klystrons, accelerating structures, RF transport, beam dynamics, and support functions. I am also a collaborator on an experiment testing a plasma lens.
