12 December 2000 - Tom Heitmann ('00)
Seasons greetings,
I realize I haven't checked back with the Valpo physics department since graduation, so here's a bit of what I'm doing. I'm currently continuing my physics education in the PhD program of the UW-Madison Physics Department.
Things are going well (although extremely busy) in fact I found my way into a research group just this past week. I'll be continuing a bit of what I had been involved in at Argonne, namely collosal magnetoresistance. In addition to that I'll be getting my hands in some high-Tc superconductivity research focused on Josephson junctions. I'm excited to get started, but I'll be happy for winter break nonetheless (maybe then I can breathe/sleep).
I'm also enjoying life in Madison, so I'd be happy to show any prospective grad students from Valpo around should they be interested. Anyway, I hope to visit Valpo and the physics department sometime next semester.
Sincerely,
Tom
