The results from an experiment done at Fermilab in 1996-1997 by Prof. Donald Koetke and Technical Specialist Paul Nord along with physicists from Fermilab, Los Alamos National Laboratory, Argonne National Laboratory, and several other universities to study the anti-quarks in the proton were published recently in the Physical Review Letters (Physical Review Letters. 80, 3715, April, 1998). Done with protons at high energies from the Fermilab accelerator, this experiment achieved some startling results requiring the modification of phenomonogical models for quantum chromodynamics (QCD). More data are being analyzed and numerous other papers will follow from other interesting physics which can be studied in these data.
