In March 1999 four junior physics and astronomy majors were honored with the University Lumina awards for scholarly achievement. Requirements for the award include an overall Grade Point Average of 3.60/4.00. The awardees for this year are: Danny Allen, Ryan Doering, Jason Hayward, and Adam Gibson. The awards were given in a ceremony on 21 March 1999 in the Great Hall of the Student Union. Families and friends of the awardees and faculty representatives of the academic departments were on hand to help recognize these academic achievements. The reception following the awards was a pleasant time to visit with parents and the award recipients.
