Freshman Amber Schober a "star" in two venues

February 1999

Freshman physics student Amber Schober is making excellent marks both in the classroom and on the basketball court. Amber is in her second semester at VU and majoring in physics. She is also one of the leading players on the VU women's basketball team which won the Midcon conference title this season. Amber is a competitive rebounder and scorer often scoring in double digits. In the classroom she is also scoring well finishing the fall semester with a grade point average of 4.0/4.0 - straight A. Not only majoring in physics, Amber is also a Christ College honors student in the humanities. A native of Indiana, Amber visited in summer 1998 to scope out VU and came away pleased with what she saw both in the academic excellence and the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the women's basketball program.
