Three students present research results at conference

April 1999

In April 1999 three physics and astronomy majors presented the results of their summer research projects at the national Undergraduate Research Conference at Butler University. Ryan Doering, Richard Maupin, and Jon Thoms each described their research before an audience of their peers and visiting faculty. Ryan and Richard reported on work they had done under the direction of Dr. Bruce Hrivnak to study light variability of proto-planetary nebulae. Jon reported on his work to study the variation in the acceptance of the MEGA detector during the 1993, 1994, and 1995 running periods. Jon's work was supervised by Dr. Stanislaus and was done as part of the nuclear and particle physics research program.
