Prof. Stan Zygmunt will be returning to teaching and research activities on the campus after a full year leave from these duties. In spring, 1997, he was awarded a University Research Professorship for half of the 1997-98 academic year. He then matched this with an award from the Argonne National Laboratory for the other half year. This permitted him to devote his full energies to the theoretical study of zeolites, thereby making significant progress on his continuing research program. This summer, 1998, he is continuing his research work primarily on the VU campus and mentoring student Jason Karlin who is serving as a summer research student. During his absence, Prof. Tim Folkerts was a visiting assistant professor. Tim and his family now reside in Fort Hays, Kansas where he has a faculty position at the Fort Hays campus of the University of Kansas.
